The partnership will allow collaboration between the two organizations

Louisville City FC and Racing Louisville FC Academy welcome the Winchester Youth Soccer League (WYSL) as a Community Alliance Affiliate. This partnership will allow for the collaboration of educational resources, opportunities for coaches and player development.

“We are excited to partner with the WYSL to continue to grow soccer in the Winchester area,” said LouCity and Racing Academy Director Mario Sanchez. “The partnership will allow both clubs to work together to provide coaching education and player clinics for the WYSL families.”

The WYSL has provided the youth living within the Winchester, Ky., area with the beautiful game for more than 35 years. Since its founding, the organization has grown offering soccer to 300-plus kids each season.

“We are so excited for this opportunity to partner with Racing Louisville FC and LouCity,” said the WYSL's board presidency. “We want to give both our boys and our girls the opportunity to see what future is possible in the sport. We want to inspire, build confidence and give all our youth athletes exposure to a professional organization. This is uniquely possible through this organization as a club that provides soccer at the highest of levels for both women and men.”

Through this partnership, LouCity and Racing Louisville will share its training curriculum with Winchester Youth Soccer Directors to use as applicable. Additionally, WYSL players will be given the opportunity to showcase their ability to the LouCity and Racing Louisville Academy staff, providing them the ability to further their development as a player.

“I am excited to begin this affiliation with LouCity and Racing Louisville FC, as it will provide us with even more opportunities for our community,” said board member and former WYSL athlete Ben Dorsey. “It will give players the option to view some higher-level competition and professional athletes. It will also be great to show our community that we are committed to providing the best learning experience possible.”

After offering 3v3 soccer during the pandemic, WYSL will return to offering full-sided play in their Fall 2021 season.
