The two organizations will collaborate moving forward.

The Louisville City FC Academy has widened its reach by welcoming Paducah, Ky.-based Pumas FC as a Community Alliance Affiliate, with the partnership allowing for collaboration including educational resources, opportunities for coaches and player development.

Through this partnership, the LouCity Academy will share its training curriculum with Pumas Youth Soccer Directors to use as applicable. Additionally, Pumas FC players will be given the opportunity to showcase their ability to the LouCity staff, providing them the ability to further their development as a player.

“We are super excited to be partnering with Pumas FC,” said academy director Mario Sanchez. “Pumas shares the same philosophy as us about developing young players and giving them the opportunity to pursue their dreams. This will continue to allow us to expand what LouCity is doing and hopefully continue to give young boys across the region the opportunity to pursue their goals, whether they’re professionally or collegiately.

“We feel this is going to be a win-win for everybody and we look forward to many years to come of great partnership opportunities for these boys.”

Pumas Futbol Club’s mission is to teach each player to be the best they can be on and off the field. They want to prepare their players to play at any level of the game with excellent technical and tactical skills while also having fun.

“Pumas FC is thrilled to be partnering with Louisville City and Racing Louisville,” said Pumas’ coaching director, Gerrardo ‘Chile’ Herrera. “Both professional teams have youth academy teams with a clear pathway for the best young soccer talent to become professional. We are looking forward to the development opportunities this exclusive affiliation with Mario Sanchez and his coaching staff will bring to players, coaches and families in Pumas and to our region.”
